Western Sicily May 2019 Day 2
Listed first on our itinerary for the day was a stop at “Le Cuspidi” pasticceria e gelateria . My friend/owner Osvaldo greeted us with his contagious smile.
After having the choice of picking out a couple trays of breakfast pastries/cookies to taste and share, we made our way back to the kitchen.
What awaited us was a hands on baking experience followed by a personally accompanied tour of the inner workings of the bakery and kitchen. 20 employees that make the magic happen where happy to show us the works behind their amazing products. An exclusive experience treasured by all of us. Thanks again to Osvaldo and the staff of “Le Cuspidi” for sharing their time and excellence with us.
We then set off to San Leone for lunch and some beach club action. We enjoyed the waves crashing as we sat back on the outdoor couches contemplating what we were really getting into. A light lunch accompanied by some fine sparkling white wine kept us cheerful as we enjoyed the music and good company.
Our last stop of the day was in Favara. We explored an amazing cutting edge museum followed by a visit to the city’s main church. The combination of modern day art and historic architecture had us living in a timeless space that evening.
Our adventure together just began, but I bet anyone in our group will confess that it seems as though we have already known each other for a long time. Being away together in a foreign land creates strong bonds and lifelong friendships.
