Western Sicily May 2019 Day 3

This mornings mission; time travel into The Valley of The Temples.  Our guide and local archaeologist Laura curated all the details and painted the perfect picture for us to envision how these ancient civilizations lived.

Besides the impressive architecture, what struck us most was the religious and spiritual significance of the placement of these temples.  There is so much behind it and they have just begun to scratch the surface.

A classic Sicilian family gathering in the countryside hills overlooking the Mediterranean sea awaited us next.  Lorenzo and his extended family welcomed us with open arms to share a Sunday afternoon that we will never forget.  The fresh food we ate was all homemade and from his farmland.  It was out of this world.

After, we were treated to a live performance of his sicilian folk band.  They were very talented and even better showmen.  We had no choice but to party along with them.

A walk through his organic orchards accompanied by some historical facts and farming methods answered all of our questions about the land.

To end the evening right, we were treated to a private violin performance by Maestro Pablo at a seaside beach club. We were showered with his talent and charm while we relaxed and enjoyed an aperitif.  His range of music struck a chord with everyone and brought out some deep contemplation and emotion from within.  Some local friends joined us as it seemed that our group was growing in size by the day.
