Western Sicily May 2019 Day 5
Day 5
San Vito Lo Capo was our next destination. This beautiful beachside town was going to be our home for our last leg of the tour. We were excited for what was awaiting us and were eager to get on the road to reach our next hotel.
The ride over was full of laughter as usual. We stopped for some lunch along the way and took advantage of our location to snap some pictures on top of the beautiful seaside town of Castellamare.
After checking in and resting we headed to Erice to meet our friend Ivano for a guided walkthrough of this ancient marvel of a city. We opted for the cable car so we could really take in the views and enjoy a different experience.
Tonight’s dinner party consisted of a traditional Sicilian home made pizza making session at a mountainside villa. We were fortunate to be able to see and participate in this Sicilian ritual. We had so much fun and the pizza was maybe the best we’ve ever had.
Another day full of enriching experiences that brought us close the the heart of the land and the locals.

Genovesini Ericine....a specialty from the area, these cream filled although you can choose from ricotta and chocolate as well. Oh, and they were warm!
